RF Losses

I have been looking for info on RF losses relating to fishing poles. The problem is the graphite. Graphite is (conductive) carbon filaments, but the $10 question is whether there is enough of it in a pole to be sufficiently conductive in an RF field to matter. Apparently there are cases where it is the case, or so we've heard rumors of. Here I'll try to collect specific examples of this, or the lack of this:

N5ESE's Loss Experience discusses noticing a loss in signal strength when his wire was spiralled against a DK9SQ pole.

Note that many of the poles we use have little or no graphite, and should not have this problem. If you can run a test with your antenna spiralled against the pole, and then bowed away from the pole, let us know any results.
