Lithium AA Batteries
Energizer AA Batteries (and clones)
- 1.5-1.7 volts approx xx mah
- primary battery, not rechargeable
- LiFeS2 chemistry
- used for 1.5V AA applications (some devices have problems with the extra voltage)
- handle high current loads and low temperatures better than many other types
- known for light weight, extremely long energy retention, good for emergency standby service
14500 Lithium Ion Rechargeable Batteries
- 3.6-3.7V approx 750 mah
- secondary battery, rechargeable
- more than double the voltage of a standard AA
- used in some LED flashlights that have voltage compliant regulators
- these are similar to the laptop batteries and occasionally catch fire
