This Wiki has been created to discuss or publish Ham Radio related topics in general, and organize our Ham Radio Field Day group in Particular. I would like to encourage others who have content that is appropriate to share here to contact me.
A
Wiki is a web program that allows members to make pages and change content easily, and allows comment notes to be added to pages.
To keep some control over potential spam I have implemented the 'User Registration Code' feature of this Wiki. This requires new users to have a user registration key when creating their login account. Thus spammers cannot easily create accounts.
If you wish to participate in this Wiki contact
AlanB by email. Include your callsign (if you have one) and what your ham radio interests are, and how you would like to contribute to the Wiki.
Setting up a new User Account
- Get the User Registration Code from AlanB
- Select a User Name. User Names must be CamelCase. We recommend firstname and first initial of last name, no space, capitalize the first letter of each name. Thus AlanB.
- Select a password
- Select the email address you wish to use. This should be a valid address, but it will not normally be sent any mail. It will not be visible or available to spammers. It is used if you need a password reminder. Triggering a password reminder will send an email containing an alternate string that can be used to get into your Wiki account in case you lose your password.
- Visit the UserSettings page and create an account
- Review the FormattingRules and use the SandBox to try out some formatting.
- Create your User Page. Name it the same as your Wiki name. Look at AlanB's for a sample. You can create your user page by clicking on your Wiki name at the top of the screen. It will offer to create the not yet existing page.
- You can comment on pages, edit pages, or create new pages in the Wiki. Try to blend in with what is already there. if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask. Post a comment or send email.
