Alan has been licensed since 1967 and participating in Field Day operations since the early 70’s. He holds the Amateur Extra class license, the highest available. He has always been interested in Field operations – setting up and operating from portable or mobile positions in the field. Field Day is an organized opportunity to do this on a larger-than usual scale.
Alan holds a BS in Electronics Engineering and an MS in Computer Science from UC Berkeley.
